Donor Revealed
Video surveillance has revealed the identity of the man who dropped off $10,000 in cash to cover a dead suburban Dallas mayor's unauthorized credit card purchases.
Coppell city spokeswoman Sharon Logan says David Murph, the husband of the editor of a local newspaper, was the man that once-anonymous donor who covered dead Coppell Mayor Jayne Peters' personal purchases on her city credit card.
The security video shows Murph walking into the main entrance of Coppell's city hall with an envelope that he quickly hands off to the front desk, then leaves out immediately.
A note accompanied the cash, directing that it ``reimburse the city for any and all credit card charges of Jayne Peters, with any remainder to go to the city.''
Peters and her 19-year-old daughter were found dead in their home in what investigators say was an apparent murder-suicide.
