Houston Transit Crash Injures 18
Officials say a collision between a transit bus and light-rail train in downtown Houston has sent 18 people to local hospitals.
None of the injuries are reported to be life threatening, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Transit Authority, or Metro, which runs Houston's bus and light-rail system.
Police say the accident happened about 2:10 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Main Street and St. Joseph Parkway, a block north of Interstate 45.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated by Metro transit police.
Last month, a similar downtown collision between a bus and light-rail train sent nine people to hospitals. In that accident, the bus apparently ran a red light and struck the train.
