Houston Metro Train and Bus Collide

An afternoon collision between a transit bus and light-rail train on the edge of downtown Houston sent nine people to hospitals.
The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. Monday on Main Street, about a block northeast of Interstate 45. Carolina Mendoza's a spokeswoman for Metro, operator of the bus and the train. She says the bus was westbound on St. Joseph Parkway when it apparently ran a red light and struck the train, which was northbound on Main.
Mendoza says those injured included the bus driver and a passenger on the train. She says none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
