State Board Begins Evolution Debate

The State Board of Education hears hours of opinion on what should be taught in science classrooms in Texas. The science curriculum affects all grades and includes a lot more than just how we teach evolution, but that’s what most people wanted to talk about. Teacher Max Brodsky says “it is not our job to present religion as fact and science is about facts.” But Board Member Terri Leo denies that religion is the issue. “We’re talking about scientific weaknesses and scientific strengths. We’re not talking about religious weaknesses.”
