Governor Calls for Stepped Up Border Security

In the wake of the murder of two Americans in Juarez this weekend Governor Perry is again asking the federal government to increase border security. Last week Governor Perry sent a letter requesting more National Guard troops and predator drone aircraft to the Secretary of Homeland Security. Now the Governor is repeating the call for better border security after weekend violence just across the border from Texas. “Incidents in Northern Mexico over the weekend really bring to the forefront why this is such an imperative action for the Federal Government.” Governor’s Spokeswoman Katherine Cessinger says the current Border Patrol officers along the border simply don’t have the support and tools they need now to ensure the border is secure and it’s time the Federal Government give them those tools and that help.
